Hello there!

I’m Abigail (Abby) Bloch and I am a graduate student at New York University living in NYC. As part of a five-year dual degree program, I graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Technology and a minor in web programming and applications. I am currently in my final year of university completing my Master of Music in Music Technology. In this final year, I am focusing on the use of music in museums and art exhibitions as my thesis.

In addition to my studies, I am currently working at HOBO Audio as an assistant engineer. I work on a little bit of everything: dialog and music editorial, effects editing, sound design, and engineering sessions for advertising, television, and film.

My connection to sound began much earlier than my academic or professional career. As a child, when a scary scene came on the screen instead of covering my eyes I’d cover my ears as the sounds were what made it scary. Now I use that love and connection to sound in film to help bring projects to life with sound.

I grew up playing guitar; picking up slide guitar, jazz, and a little classical. I also sang throughout my life on stage in choirs and musicals. Outside of music, I enjoy going to small coffee shops, browsing bookstores, and picking up any other creative hobbies I can get my hands on.
